Lines per inch (LPI) refers to the resolution of a drawing tablet. The tablets from these two brands come with at least 2048 pressure sensitivity levels. If you have to choose a tablet for ZBrush, I recommend you go for either those from Wacom or Huion.

This level is sufficient for creating nice strokes. For ZBrush, a decent tablet should have a pressure sensitivity level of over 1000. Pressure SensitivityĬheck the pressure sensitivity level of the tablet you want to buy. Ideally, the screen should be at least 8 inches. I just think its faster and has benefits over using a Cintiq. On the other hand, if you need to make large stroker and use ZBrush selection features, you’ll want a tablet with a medium to large active work area. I've since switched to having the large tablet in front of me, and keyboard positioned right above it. Years ago I started with the keyboard on the left, tablet on the right. I've worked this way since the first wacom so its natural to me and the benefit is that I dont have my hand in the way. They're fun but personally I prefer my hand not obscure my view of the model while working so I use an Intous 2017 Large and 30inch monitors. I suppose you could use a bluetooth keyboard though but then you dont have the wacom pen buttons so. Those keys I need instant access to and the ability to combine them naturally.

I cant imagine using that Ipad's slide out menu for alt, control, shift etc. Its just so much easier to switch tools using keyboard shortcuts. Also you still need the keyboard while working so you might as well use it instead of express keys. The button quality of express keys is lacking compared to a cherry mx switch or even an apple or microsoft surface keyboard. I dont like their physical position/layout compared to a keyboard. Express Keys are ok but I don't like to use them. Again wacom pens have side buttons for navigation.
